My wife and I have been hiking together for about 10 years now. We both love it, and have probably hiked about 5000 miles together. We done a few long distance trails in the last couple years, and we'll be at it again this summer.

We both prefer ground sleeping, but hammocks are nice late summer into early fall when the bugs are gone. We carry two hammocks in both of our vehicles at all times too.

We're not sold on winter in a hammock. With the extra insulation needed a hammock setup weighs close to double what our ground setup weighs.

We have a couple tents that we use depending on weather. Most of the time we're in a TarpTent Protrail which weighs 26oz.

I've never slept in a hammock before. But I tried one out at a friend's house over the weekend and found it so relaxing. So I bought an ENO DoubleNext with Atlas Straps. Can't wait to put it to use.

I sure did, modeled it after the Hammeck Stand (notice the E insetead of O in hammock). Used Fence top rail 1-3/8 and EMT electrical conduit, with some tarps.com "1 3/8 Open L One pipe slides through".
Those Atlas Straps may stretch and put your butt on the ground by morning. I like using Tree Straps and Whoopie slings, or other suspension options from Dutchwaregear.com

We have an ENO Sub7 and Double Nest LED as well as the Atlas straps. The indoor hanging kit is awesome. I have it on my deck mounted to the post of our pergola. Makes hanging much easier.

    Loose nut behind the wheel.
Sweet setups here fellas.:hattip: My votes:

Dutchware Chameleon for backpacking / kayaking / bikepacking. Modular design, very light and compact.
Warbonnet RidgeRunner for truck camping / basecamps, or any time comfort trumps weight.

Got some quilts from Enlightened Equipment, Katabatic Gear and Warbonnet depending on the temperatures. Tarps from Mountain Laurel Designs and Simply Light Designs.

    Out with the Ridgerunner...

That's what I thought too...I have a feeling the pic is deceiving. I asked a question on their page, so we'll see if it gets answered.

Saw another on YouTube that never got off the ground. Might be time to fab some shit up :welder:
