Yeah things are pretty F'd up around here.

The Cottonwood road closure is going to be a big bummer for me. Its how I get out to Cherry Lake to camp/fish...

Am I correct that Cottonwood rd. is the main road to Cherry Lake?

No I didn't. Several of the routes headed that direction were closed and the alternative route was equivalent of the drive time to Pismo.

So we headed to Pismo for the weekend.

Great thread! I am reasonably new to TW. I have some experience wheeling, but never with my new Taco! I live in the Sacramento area and am always searching for semi-close areas to go. So far....NO LUCK. I did some snow wheeling a few months back by HWY 20 and Lake Spaulding when they weren't plowing. I would love to join up with y'all for a "novice" trip ;-)

    well that sucks.
maybe that will change. there is a group that maintains it. Im sure this will be the same for most other trails as well. closed until repaired. with the storms we got this yr. Im just glad fishing has been one of the best yrs I've seen so far.

Unfortunately, the pictures on the forest service Flickr page show extensive damage to many of those roads. We're talking 5-10' differences in height and major areas where the entire road and roadbase is washed way.

The good news (if you see it that way) is that many of these are paved access roads to major parts of the Northern California water infrastructure, so I would hope they will make it a priority to repair them so that maintenance crews can get into the reservoirs and pump stations.

One of them. You can take Cherry Oil road which is just after the south fork bridge on 120. Long way around for me

I was watching a video about the Mint 400 and saw that it was originally from Vegas to Tahoe but now it's a 100 mile loop - does anyone know what the original route was?
