From what I just heard the colors are made in batches. They are now doing a run of another color so cement might be awhile. This could be interpreted as cement is not being produced.

Drive was rough, I don't regret the truck just the way everything went down without planning.

No discounts or haggling so it was straightforward. Showed up, Eric Grant processed everything in about an hour without any fuss.

glad you had a good experience. I can't say the same and they are 10 minutes from my house. I bet I spent almost 3 hours just finalizing the pick up of my truck. They were trying to get me to set up camp in the finance office and take more cash from me, because I was trying to secure my own financing.

Sorry to hear that. It's always best to just come in with a check in hand, grab the keys and bounce. The moment they have an opening, no stealership will allow you to leave.

they wouldn't send the info to my credit union like I asked 2 days before I was scheduled to pick up the truck, they said its because I wouldn't sign any paperwork the day I test drove it. Now mind you, I put a 500 deposit down when it was ordered about 3 months prior.

They are okay. I haven't had any problems with them and I've been offroad in a few inches of snow on mountains in eastern Washington. That said, I will be getting Duratracs eventually. I had them on my 2nd gen and prefer them for many reasons. That's probably a want more than a need though. If you're only worried about a little snow on the roads you will be fine with the stock tires.

I've been reading this site for a few months now and I think I have learned something new in every forum I have read, it really is a wealth of knowledge. I had to finally create a profile and make this topic my first post because finding a Pro in Cement has been my personal quest since January. I can tell you I started on Cars.com to get a feel for asking prices and to see where they are mostly available. Previous to a couple of months ago, it was nearly impossible to find one at a dealership in the west. Starting at the end of February I began calling various dealerships from Texas to California in hopes of negotiating a purchase at or near MSRP. To say that effort has been in vain would be an understatement. Had I known in January when I started casually looking what I know now, I should have purchased the few I saw then, mostly in the central and eastern US, and had it transported to the west. Prices have only gone up and availability has gone down since that time. The biggest jump came when the Pros started to hit California and suddenly dealer asking prices were all north of $50k.

You will still see some listed at $47k or $48k but if you call on them you will be told that they "can't let them go for that little". I have called on six different Cement Pro's in California and been told the same story by every one of them. Some will throw in every stock accessory or offer the extended Platinum warranty as incentive because they know they are charging well above MSRP already. Both Cement Pro's I saw and drove in Vegas would not be sold for less than $48,250 (one in March, one in April). I have come to understand that several of the dealerships were under the impression that the 2017's wouldn't be as limited in production as it has turned out. Most have said they have been told now that they will get anywhere between 2-5 Pro Tacomas with one saying they would get 7 over the course of the year with no input about which colors they will be given. I have inquired about ordering a Cement Pro through two local dealerships, two in California, and one in Utah (all since April 1). Of the five dealerships, all five told me that they can still place an order for a Pro and it will be filled by Toyota but three of them informed me that color cannot be specified anymore at this time. The other two said they had not heard this but would look into it for me.

After 4 months of watching, searching, talking, and negotiating with numerous dealerships, I'm not anywhere closer to purchasing a Pro at the price I would like. My guess is I will just bite the bullet eventually and pay more than I want because I want the truck that bad. I just thought I would pass along my experience in case others are in the same boat and think they may be alone or taking crazy pills.

Very true. Also remember that the cars on the lot aren't actually owned by the dealer.. Banks pretty much loan the dealer a large sum of cash with interest. If the dealer doesn't move the cars that technically banks own, the interest pile's up. They will always push a car that is sitting on the lot for that reason. Moving cars from one dealership to another isn't really helping them. Ordering helps them because it will just be thrown into the batch already coming in..
