you guys gotta perfect the we're-too-cool-to-wave wave. it's four fingers off the top of the wheel and an up-directed chin nod. it communicates the following:

    "sup bra"
    "yea dawg"
    "u no it"
    "yea"

Tacoma guys are special. Just ask them. A truly unique individual. That's why a wave is both initiated and expected in return.

You guys are funny! I lived on the west coast of Ireland for a while and everybody waves. Just one finger off the wheel and maybe a nod, at every passing driver! If you didn't get a wave back you new they weren't "from round these parts."

I restrict my wave to other Infernos.

But... but... you are comrades, bretheren in spirit, in the exhilarating sensation of freedom, in unanimous hate of the cagers. You can instantly strike up a deep conversation about Yoshi exhausts and fender eliminators in the line at Starbucks, and moan about your mutual dislike of party-pooping cops and squids trying to drag knee on Mulholland. You are two parts of a whole, how can you not wave?!?!?!?!

The corvette community takes the "corvette wave' very seriously.. The C4 guys get really butt sore when nobody waves.

This used to be a cool thing in the Jeep Wrangler community back in the day but since the JK, it seems its a pretentious issue. A stock wrangler wont get a wave from a built up Wrangler cause your not as cool as me. And since the onslaught of the JK model, there has been a huge influx of non enthusiast owners (which is fine by me). I think its just lame when someone who has $30k added into his wrangler and doesn't off road it and still doesn't wave to a stock owner.

I think if I see a Tacoma owner who is into off-roading or overlanding, I'll toss them the wave but probably only in that environment.

    It's getting there.
This. I wave to any Toyota owner with mods, no matter if it's a 4runner, Tacoma or whatever. With that, you get the acknowledgement back. I also waved at a 17, TRD Pro and he waved back at my lightly modded TRDOR.

My "scooter" is 600 cc and physically pretty big so when it's coming at you (see below) at 70 or 75 it's hard to tell what it is--I sometimes (mostly during BikeWeek and Biketoberfest) LMAO when Harley and big cruiser riders wave at me as we approach--and then as we pass by realise they waved at a "scooter", something they will never live down--the look on their faces is priceless as they wonder if anyone else saw them do it.

Riders of older Harleys are my favourite--the look on their faces, as seen in my rear view mirror, when they realise they just got toasted off a light by a "scooter" is also a good "pick-me-up"...

not exactly head on but you can get an idea:

Toyota wave does not exist at all where I live.

Jeep wave is a very real thing where I live. In my jeep every other jeep waves. Same with my motorcycle. I am not a fan of the awkwardness of it so I don't participate.
