Curious if any one has successfully modified the bed mounted 110v plug to always be hot?

I'd like to plug my ARB Fridge into it for weekend camping trips but the fridge needs constant power.

    Thoughts?

your inverter will step up the voltage then the fridge will step it back down, not very efficient. just hard wire it

Yea you want to keep the fridge on 12V. 120V power would be very inefficient as stated above

I get what you guys are saying but why would every other soccer mom have no issues plugging the fridge in the back of their mini-van with only a 12v cigarette lighter as the source? Seems like the bed plug the Tacoma has would be more robust than a simple cigarette lighter?

Because the fridge runs on 12V power. So if you're using the inverter you're converting 12V battery power to 120V inverter power and then back to 12V power with the ARB adapter. You're losing efficiency at every conversion

A hard wired line to the battery or a hardwired additional cigarette lighter port is the way to go

Does anybody know where to draw constant power from even when the engine is off (acc off) other than directly from the battery? Plug into the fuse box? Anybody has a diagram which are the spare circuits for 2016+ Tacoma? I just want to be able to charge my phone when I park my truck. Thanks.

Do what I did. This is wired to always be hot, when the switch is closed of course.

That looks pretty cool. But did you just go straight to your battery for a power source?

You should reverse the 12v socket and usb ports. The fat 12v is easy to plug in, while the USB sockets are finicky. You'll easily get the 12v socket in behind the USB sockets, but it'll be tough to insert anything into the USBs if there's something plugged into the 12v.

8ga wire should be used if going from battery to the bed with inline fuse.

    None (yet)
In-line fused wire to battery (8 gauge?) and ground? I'm guessing that's all that is needed?

Make sure that the 12 volt plug is rated for outdoor use.
