Those are the same running boards I have. I'm guessing they're factory.

They are. Sold them a few days ago. Had to take them off because my tires rubbed. The plan now is to make some sliders with mounting points for hoops that I can take off when I hit the trail. My family members are short. Getting in the truck without a step presents a challenge for them.

Just my $.02, but I'd say forget the running boards and go with sliders. They can be fabricated to your specific needs. They'll work as running boards, and protect you from door dings, rocks, and trees.IMG_0056.jpgIMG_1506.jpg

I would agree go with sliders, if u still need a step ur local rv deal sells steps that auto retract when the door closes I have a set on my dodge. Like those steps better than oe they are more customizable and rebuildable.

Exactly. But I also need a step for my family, especially if I have to give my mom a ride. I want sliders with removable hoops so the step isn't so high.

I have a 3" +/- lift, and 285/75 r16's, with the sliders angled up. The top of the sliders are about 23" off the ground. Mom broke her hip in November and was able to get in and out of my truck easier than her WRX. The only complaint I've gotten is when my girlfriend is wearing a skirt.

My mom is 5'1" and 72 years old. She's not stepping up two feet to climb in my cab.

I want to do something along the lines of the nfab units, but with a removable step for the trail.

Did you make these yourself? My brother just got a brand new welder, and is building his welding table this week. He wants to make patio furniture and do some metalwork to compliment his glass art, but I'm all about Taco modifications.

I picked these up from another TW member about a year and a half ago. For most of that time they acted as step sides and door ding protection. That was until I went exploring last weekend in western CO and eastern UT. Turns out they work to keep your body off rocks too! Worth the investment without a doubt.

Ah. So you could get the motor and brackets and DIY the rest.

Yes we did a set for a dodge one ton my uncle needed a step but don't like running boards. I work next to pleasureland and stopped in one day n saw it, bought them n fanned a step for him tucks nicely under the truck when folded up. But with salty roads in Minnesota it does require yearly maintenance.

^ This. Would love to see the person's face after they open their door into your truck and realize they smacked the slider instead.
