'07 Tacoma Prerunner TRD

Hello everyone.
I just took possession of an '07 Tacoma Prerunner TRD offroad edition. The dealer was selling it "as is" with a P0010 CEL, and needing a front strut, front pads and rotors, front tires needing a balance and windshield wipers. I purchased it below fair market value with 43000 miles on her and a fairly new tonneau cover.
This forum helped me with the code. I purchased the OCV before taking possession of her but after taking the engine cover off, I realized one of the wires to the solenoid was broken. So, I took the pin out of the connector because there was no wire available to work with after the connector and soldered the remaining wire to the connector and electrical taped it up to see if that remedies the problem. If the connection isn't sufficient, is there someone who sells the connectors with a little more wire to work with to solder and shrink wrap to the remaining wires so I can cut off the existing connector and install a new one?
I already appreciate the help here and look forward to many years with this truck.
