They do love attention, the ruby colored one would sit beside all day if I could stay still that long. I tell everyone if they want a lap dog get a Cavalier King Charles.

 

Just about the only sensible thing my ex ever said was: "They say you can't buy love--but that's not true, you can buy a dog"...

 

Poor tony is at the pet ER right now. He's vomiting and has bloody diarrhea. At least his mood is happy! Hope my boy's alright.

 

Hope he's ok.

Yeah, it's rough! My wife and I are in the waiting room right now while they pump him full of fluids.

 

Fingers crossed and a prayer for you guys getting to bring him home tonight.

 

Thanks everyone. We're all back home and tony is asleep on the couch. They pumped him full of fluids, so now he's got a camel hump on his back! It's the dog version of an IV. We've got a few other meds to help out his intestines, and will keep him on a bland diet for the next week.

When our Isabelle's heart was going, it was bland white chicken and white rice. She wasn't a huge fan until we added a little baby food - she'd lay in our laps and lick it off the spoon. Kept her eating and her weight up so the meds could work.

 

That's exactly what we're gonna be feeding tony. Good to know about the baby food!

 

My 85-pound shelter alumni, Jake, caught in a rare non-napping moment. I don't think his previous owners were kind to him. He bears some physical and emotional scars. He's a big love dog ... unless you're the UPS or pest control guy.

 

Went and did some wheeling today to get Drake use to being in the truck. Got a couple good pics of him.

Don't know if they're not supposed to have it with some of the meds/antibiotics, but we usually added a couple spoons of plain whole milk yogurt when our boy was a puppy. Now he goes nutzo and will gobble his food when we give it to him.

 

My aunt and uncle had a bulldog with the same name. It would get into everything so he got his named changed from F/Tucker pretty often.

 

Yeah man, bulldogs are ridiculous. They have so much personality though its hard not to love them.

 

Thank you SO much for the baby food recommendation. This morning tony wasn't eating or drinking anything, and his bowels were making quite a bit of noise. We got some baby food, and he still wouldn't eat that. We ended up getting a food syringe and putting the baby food into his mouth while he was laying there. After a couple rounds of that over the course of an hour, he ate a whole bowl of food!! He seems to be doing a lot better now, and hopefully I can get a solid stool sample for his appointment tomorrow at his regular vet.
