Been wanting to get back into welding, so today I said fuck it. Definitely not back to my 20 year old self, but my first time using flux core. Must say it is as enjoyable as I thought it'd be. Lots of practice then on to some projects!

PS: I know it's a rinky dink machine but it'll do fine for what I have in store.

I've got a project I need to weld. If I come over next week can I use it for 10 min. I'll gladly compensate you with your favorite beverage or OTPHJ :D

You're welcome to it anytime George, but you can save the OTPHJ for yourself ;)
Just a note, it will only go up to 1/4 inch. Haven't tested whether it will do it in a single pass yet.

That's an awesome machine! I have the same for when I need to do something mobile and run it off my generator. Do yourself a favor and chuck the 1lb spool and get yourself a 10lb spool of .030. It will feed so much better. And when your not using it release the drive roll tensioner. The plastic on the tensioner will distort over time and play hell with feeding.

Thanks for the tips Peter!! Looks like I'll make another trip to the hardware store. Was having trouble with the 16 gauge material, think I'll pick up something thicker to practice on.

Saw this get used in Hollister last weekend. Jeep tried to bash his way through a rock garden and sheared a steering arm. His buddies came by with one of these, hooked it up to 2 batteries and welded the link back together to get him back to camp since his wheels we going in opposite directions lol.

We have a few at work. Love em. We also run the parallel kit with the two of em when we need it. Super quiet and fuel efficient.
