Cooling System Maintenance Question

Hey All.....

Its that time.....

I need to replace my hoses in my cooling system.

I see two (upper and lower radiator). Are there any hidden ones I dont see?

Should I replace the thermostat whike I am at it?

Any other suggestions welcome.

240k miles on an 06 V6 Doublecab PreRunner.

Look here for related parts. Thermostat and rad cap should also be on that list and if you haven't done the water pump. Don't forget to purchase the necessary gaskets for all the hard parts! Check operation of the fan clutch also.

Check your Radiator end tanks for leaks also if it's the original.

Anything Factory compatible will be fine. I'd stick with the Toyota stuff if you haven't had issues with it.

 

I agree with all the above except the suggestion to replace the water pump. Thats a helluva lot more work. Its usually done when replacing the timing belt.

 

2nd Gen V6 Tacoma has a Timing Chain.
