New Member here, I hail from Maine where trucks in general are popular and these trucks are VERY popular. I am the proud owner of a new 2017 SR5 double cab, long bed in silver sky metallic. I have had a lot of vehicles over the years but this is only the New 2nd time I have bought brand new. The choice was easy. I have been brand loyal to Toyota for a while now. I traded an ‘02 Tundra. The new Tundras seem massive compared to my 1st gen and I also wanted better MPGs.

So far I could not be happier. The ride is quiet, smooth and comfortable. The interior is slick and functional. The composite bed is a HUGE selling point. I love that I can use it as a truck without concern of roughing up a painted steel bed. The fuel mileage has been great. I have around 1700 miles on it now. I commute 20 miles round trip at mostly 45-50mph speeds and get an indicated 21-22 ‘tank average’ mpg.

Add ons: I will eventually put a hard cover on it to keep the snow out. There is no rush on that so the first thing I added was weathertech floor mats and vent visors. That is all I wanted but I have been keeping an eye on CL for some TRD wheels or something to distinguish my SR5 from the rest. While browsing, I spotted a deal on some OEM Predator tube steps, $150 from someone with a TRD Off Road. The guy hated the steps but the dealer wouldn’t remove them as they were part of the package. This fella planned to actually go off road and didn’t want to get hung up on the steps.

My only concern so far is the slack in one of the tailgate cables, leaving all the weight on one. I haven't looked to see if there is a way to adjust or if it needs to go back to the dealer. Otherwise it is perfect:
