Not sure if some of you know this, but when a large organized meet happens at a city establishment sometimes people who are in charge of said meet can be fined for not paying and obtaining a permit to take over the area. I'm assuming that's what the whole fee thing is mostly about.

Hey guys, the next SoCal meet is May 20th at Fiesta Island. We're doing this one as a joint meet with @YotaGurlIAm here on TW so feel free to come out and hang by the bay! We won't do any wheeling but we'll park on the sand and spend the day out there, so expect a bonfire when the sun goes down!

The "official" meet time is 10:00, but feel free to roll in whenever you'd like since we're out there almost all day.

More info at or check out the TW thread at https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fiesta-island-meet-greet-bbq-dates-tbd.450441/

Maybe instead of raffles, giveaways, etc. paid for by your "membership" - you can donate finances OR TIME directly to OFF-ROAD RELATED CAUSES?? I'd rather give my time or a $20 (?) membership fee, if I knew it was STAYING LOCAL for LOCAL PRESERVATION of the VERY TRAILS THAT WE USE AND OFTEN TIMES, ABUSE.

I could care less about a t-shirt or giveaways, those can be sponsored in the long run. I just want to wheel with good people - no monetary strings attached. Also, larger groups are devastating our trails. People announce on social media and 25 rigs show up, clog the trails, trounce over natural wildlife habitats and generally just don't do positive things for our trails. You learn as you go, unless someone informs you.

Too many "clubs" these days forget about local preservation of OHV trails/rights activism and just want exposure/numbers. I'm not saying that's your group (I really don't know), but there is great opportunity here to unite all SoCal Tacoma owners in something fun and positive, free of charge.

Just my 2 pesos (as someone mentioned above as well)

I like that idea, actually. Like a lot. I'll mention it to the other admins next time I see them
