I left the mud on mine knowing it'll get dirty again next weekend. Maybe it'll be a nice base layer so I don't get as much of the Barnwell red staining. This morning I parked between a couple exec's Jaguar and Lexus in the office parking lot. After lunch they both parked on the other side of the lot. Ha!

That one trail we turned around on, where our plan was to cross over the ruts.. that fell right on its face on the way back.

I was full lock to the right, truck was going straight. All i could think was, floor it!

I saw @Silverspool not able to get to the right so I didn't even try. I knew if he made it through it would be easier for me to make it and it wasn't too deep.

Sliders shipped this morning. Not sure how long for the freight but they're at least on their way.

Need some opinions. Looking at the @Pelfreybilt front bumper. I'm trying to decide between the steel and aluminum. Would it be a huge mistake to go aluminum for the bumper? I like the weight savings, but if that just gets torn up i'm not really seeing the benefit.
If I went with the steel, would that be too much droop for my 887 springs? Not sure which direction to go.

887 those are the stock load springs right? Also what are your plans for the truck? light offroading/overlanding or trying to rock crawl? Theres a 3rd gen here in town with a Aluminum Pelfrey and he has taken his truck lots of places even out to Moab and it looks to still be holding up well.

We don't have much wildlife that runs out in the middle of the road here. Unless you're hardcore rock crawling and slam your front down a lot or at things, aluminum should be just fine. 887 is for stock weight. You need to go 888 or 886

I don't have experience with an aluminum bumper but I'm with the others..if you're not going to wheel real hard, then your risk of damage would be much lower. Depending on the angle of the impact, steel will bend too. I like the steel because I don't have to worry if I need to power through and bash into something. :headbang: I'll eventually upgrade suspension again to combat the droop after adding the bumper, but it's really not too bad so far. I don't have a winch though, so suspension upgrade will come before a new winch/bumper for me.

Yeah, as for wheeling, probably not much more technical than what we were doing this past weekend. I would like to be able to tackle a bit harder stuff with some confidence but not looking to do any hard core rock crawling. I suppose more overland type stuff. I would think with the aluminum and only 70lbs I would be fine with 887 coils.
