Does anyone know: Is Differential Recall Related to Slipping Transmission?? Obviously I'm not a vehicle expert. I've taken my 2016 Tacoma SR5 in 3 times now for the sluggish transmission. I don't know much about differentials, but am very curious if I should even bother hoping that the recall will fix the trans issue. If not, can anyone tell me what you recommend to get the trans issue rectified? Or is going back to a 2015 the best solution available? If they're not related, I don't understand why Toyota doesn't do a recall on the trans, unless it's too costly and they're hoping the # of people that go to the trouble and hassle will be far lower on an individual basis, than automatically recalling Lord Knows how many 2016's for a potentially very costly issue.

The diff recall repairs will not change your transmission function.

No and will not likely address the howling rear end either.

Have you had the TSB done to your transmission? From what I've heard, that's supposed to help.

Not saying there is any relation between the trans and the diff, but i replaced my rear diff oil and truck drives great now. thinking the issues i thought were tran related were actually diff issues. anyways, changing the rear diff fluid helped me, maybe it will help you too?
