Viper remote start issue

A viper remote start came with the used truck, the remote will not start or lock/unlock but the blue LED on the key fob lights up. Is it connected to a fuse? Is the key fob bad or should I bring it to my off road shop?

Sitting in hospital waiting room for my daughter to get a MRI so nothing to do and this is keeping my mind off it, she headed the ball in from a corner kick and really hurt herself. She is 11 and they would not allow but one person back with her my wife won the coin toss.... sorry guys just trying to keep busy...

Thanks she plays on a 12-14 semi pro team and she is 11 and small but she jumped up and headed it in and I think got whiplash

 

You might not have a remote start in it. dealers take everything out of the truck when it is traded in so they don't have to warranty it and they can sell you a new remote start. Is the ant. still on the wind shield? ,

 

Mine has done the same shit. Worked great for the first year and now it don't do shit. Hesitant on taking it back or just getting whole unit replaced

 

My Viper had the same symptoms last winter. I played with it for a couple days with no luck, so took it back to the installer. I watched him, and all he did was disconnect the plug from the antenna, and plugged it back in...works like a champ. Why they wouldn't tell me that over the phone I do not know? Try it and see...and good luck with your daughter!

 

Well after carful exam I located the cord for the antenna stuffed in my side area next to windshield, which was replaced for a crack a month ago... right when this began, anyone know about getting a new one?

 

Shouldn't it still work without the antenna? At a limited distance?

 

My son took a lego to the head last night. No trip to the hospital though. Just a small cut and a big bump. It was kinda my fault so I feel like a total dick.

I hope yours is ok, too. Kids are tough. They heal faster than us old folks.

 

Lego's hurt everyone a while back I stepped on one in bare feet in the dark... shit hurt... Daughter is better no major injury has had 3 concussions so we get nerves... she is able to go back to sports she has a black belt test on Sunday So she has been resting!

The remote start does nothing even when right up to the truck it came with it and before the windshield it worked great. Where do I find the control to see its model number so I can order a new anttena?

 

They're usually buried up under the dash. You might be able to see it if you get your head under there with a flashlight.
