I have a question Im not really sure can be answered by just the average Joe. when I ask this Im not really looking for the "get a full size truck" answer but more or less some actual facts or some really kick ass engineering math that some how solves the problem Im trying to solve.

So question, If the 2017 Sr5 2.7L access cab, long bed had a transmission cooler and fan shroud and/or electric pusher fan upgrade and brake controller would the tow rating increase or is 3500lbs the most the tranny was ever designed to pull? I ask this because I do frequently pull heavy things and sometimes even pull tandem trailers that I built myself. I used to have 3 full size trucks but two of them had to stay in Texas and one of them was making me broke so now it looks like I'll be in the Toyotas for awhile. When I pull heavy or sketchy ass loads I'm not like some of these people I see on the road trying to drive like the fully loaded truck is an empty race car, sometimes I'll take the back roads at 25mph like I'm driving a farm tractor when the load gets that sketchy.

So Im not really asking if my 2.7L is going to perform like a Peterbilt just because of a tranny cooler but more so just asking to see if the tranny would be rated for anything more like say 4-5k if it had the cooler and other upgrades most tow packages include.

I also believe that the frame and suspension are the same as the v6 with tow package so thats mainly why I'm worried about the tranny. but I could be wrong. Can any of you Tacoma Experts help me out with this question?
