Heck yea man! Curious how u placed your resivours? I find that the braid near were it goes into the shock slighly touches sometimes the top of the shock spring hat, leaving some scratches there. Was super hard to try and position it, so I think i need to play around with the placement more to get it to stop touching.

So what's your height lift gain over stock if you left it at 20mm? Any taco lean problem?

Check out my 3x off-the-truck coilover adjustment pain, I wish I would have just left it at the 20mm setting as well!
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ome-bp-51-install-report-and-height-adjustment.476085/

Here's my rig fully weighted down at 21mm front passenger and 26mm front driver, with 1/4" top plate spacers, and the rear add-a-leaf D29XL.

Do you know how much down travel you have with that setting? Top out issues over bigger bumps or drops?

Great write up; thanks for the detailed info. I was on the fence on upgrading to icon's but will stay with OME and get the BP51's next.

Great write up and I was looking into this setup as well. You covered a lot of my questions I had, but a couple I was curious about is (1) how much of a lift did it give you and (2) where did you purchase the kit from or was it all separate?

Have you made anymore on road adjustments on rebound and compression? I'm picking up my kit from ARB on Thursday. Going with rear progressive add-a-leaf instead on leaf pack.

2nd gen here and yes I have made adjustments on the truck. Even just one position and certainly two give a very noticeably softer/more compliant ride.
on my 07 with OME886s and an arb bull bar I could feel every little crack on the road surface. Ugh.it performed best at 50mph and poorly otherwise.

I started out my suspension journey just like must people, incrementally, install, by upgraded install, until you reach a point at which the pe4formance and cost are two things you and yours are comfortable with. This worked for me on my 06 and 07.at 167k on my 07 Tacoma, 15k before I sold her I dropped in a bolt-on-kit that cost almost the KBB value . Time to reassess at what point in my vehicles lives do I do major suspension upgrades. The 07 had a really rough jittery ride and was uncomfortable .as a result the truck itself began to disintegrate, from the dash to the body panels, tailgate and fender flares. Windsheilds alot. Worst? The truck would continue to run indefinitely after removing the key.

Bp51 solved all that the truck rides great on and off road. Purchased it early on so i can enjoy it for years. After experimenting a few times I found a good setup with the settings and don't fiddle with it.

Hoping to install my bp51 kit this weekend or next. Getting some tips from Wildpeak and borrowing a tool to make adjustments. I will post up pics as I go. I've done lifts and lowering of cars in the past but nothing like this so see how it goes. Only concern I have so far is having to adjust fronts as I don't have access to any fancy spring compressors. Plus, figuring out where I am going to start with settings. Currently have no extra weight in front other than roof rack, and rear I have my camper with roof rack.

How is this setup at low speeds on crappy roads? I live up in the mountains and our driveway is about half a mile long of just really bad, bumpy roads and with the stock OR suspension it is teeth rattling.

Out of the box maybe a little stiff. I haven’t messed with any of my settings yet but it definitely gets smoother the faster you go. I also have the Heavy Duty Dakar’s so that doesn’t help with a smooth ride. I love it though and can’t to dial it in!

^Great write-up. I have been on the fence about this product, but I think this helped out a lot.

Are you in Phoenix or just ordered from SDHQ? Just curious because the Firestone nearest me would not touch anything lifted.
