Like the title says. Would you fix if it was your truck? I'm hoping it's under a grand. Was cleaning my eve's troughs (sp) and after I was done it started thundering so I decided to wait for the storm to pass before taking the ladder down. Went inside the house for a minute and heard a bang.

At a minimum, I would see if a body shop could try to atleast clean up the dents just a little bit. Im the say way though, Im in it for the long haul...

    Ouch!
Bad luck. A similar thing happened to one of my vehicles last summer but in my case, I'm thinking it was done by a contractor working next door to a vacation rental I had for a month. Bad news is I didn't see it happen or find the damage until I was traveling home. Vehicle was 7 months young at the time and I didn't fix it. Decision maker for me was that I don't see exposed metal and don't think it will rust. I do make sure to keep it well waxed and living in AZ doesn't hurt

My wife is going to get an estimate today after work. Would home or vehicle insurance be worth calling? I'll probably get it fixed regardless. I am in it for the long haul with the truck for sure!

Door and fender, not so bad. The cab though, THAT'S gonna be the pricey one to fix!

I always use bungee cords to secure a ladder.

I think I would depending how long I was planning to keep the truck.

On my phone it looks like some exposed metal with a crease on the upper A pillar.

I would find a good pdr guy first to see what they could do. The A-pillar will be the toughest part since you can't really get behind it.

Get your bid amount for the work & then decide if hitting the insurance is worth it. My insurance agent has been a good resource for deciding if it is going to affect my insurance rate going forward. Hopefully you have a local guy to call and not just an on-line contact.

I avoid car insurance claims on anything short of a major loss. The added expense when they jack your rates can easily offset a small to medium sized claim. I have all my insurance through 1 local agent. He is all about saving me money. I can talk to him and he will tell me straight up what is best for my situation. With that said, hopefully you have a local agent that will do the same for you. I'm no insurance expert, but it seems like maybe you could get your homeowners insurance to cover it and not have your rates go up. If it goes on the truck insurance, make sure it goes on the comprehensive. Unforseeable "acts of God". The ladder did't just fall because of your negligence. The storm blew it over.

Not sure what I would do if it were me. It will be a very expensive fix though. I doubt you could do PDR for that. Likely bondo sculpt and repaint each panel.

Ouch! That hurts. I got hit by a flying rock from a road crew mower Monday, missed the passenger side window by just a few inches. Left about a quarter sized dent and of course the rock gouged all the way to bare metal. I plan to just touch up the exposed metal now and see if I can live with it.

A coworkers wife works for the company I'm insured through. She just sent me this, so since it's a no fault I'm pretty sure the 500 deductible will be cheaper than the fix!

Hey Dave, it's Lori. FYI HYPOTHETICALLY speaking. A ladder hitting your vehicle would be covered under your Auto insurance as a no fault comprehensive wind claim. Your Deductible would be $500.

That looks to be an expensive repair; your pulling those dents out; probably with a stud gun(its how I would do it) repaint to match; best to redo entire panel; your looking at about $1000+ for good work.
