I sent my truck into on Friday Toyota for the recall on the leaf springs and to get my injectors cleaned. When I went to pick it up yesterday the rear passenger side tire was completely locked. I'm not sure if any one else had this problem but none of the techs at Toyota had any idea what went wrong. My guess is the parking break is locked on for some reason. (Its a 2006 Trd Off-Road with the 6-speed manual) Any one else have a clue what happened?

I have pinpointed the time in your story at which something began to go wrong.

last time i dealt with something like that was on my 91 pickup 5 spd, after i beat the hell out of my drum to get it off i dialed it back to normal and played with it, i noticed that everytime i pulled the parking brake it dialed the shoe that is activated when you pull the parking brake further and further out thus overtime locking the back wheel up.. dont know if thats your issue thats just my .02. i never really looked too far into it after that i just stopped using the parking brake and left it in gear instead, as for now my 08 tacoma has never had any issues with my parking brake

the Toyota stealership should be troubleshooting, and fixing, your problem. Could be as simple as they over-torqued the lug nuts on that wheel after replacing the springs. They should check the routing on the brake cables, they probably screwed it up and they are pulled super-tight and the brake is locked on. They screwed up your truck. They should be fixing it. Give us an update when they do.

Ive had this happen a few times over the years in my '06. It has always happened when I set the parking brake with the truck on a decline off-road. The way I fixed it was to (with truck in 4hi) reverse with the parking brake engaged until it forces the truck backwards a few inches, then disengage the parking brake. This has always gotten it to unlock for me.

UPDATE: I have the truck back all seams to be working well. Toyota said they brought it in to the shop, or should I say dragged into the shop, but they wouldn't tell me exactly what went wrong. All I was told was that they took the wheels off and some how it was magically fixed.
