So i just picked up some bilstein 5100's and am planning to lift my truck up to 2.5" in the front with the stock coil (for now). The rear will have the stock oem set up but with 2" blocks which is currently on the truck right now. I also purchased 16x8 pro comp 7032's and 285 75 16 tires.

Im fairly new to this stuff and am still learning along the way but just would like some reassurance with the set up i plan to have. Ive done my research and everything should be good to go, But will i run into issues i am not aware of??

Some guidance is all im looking for, thanks! :D

I'll be the one to say it: you're not going to get reassurance on TW for a suspension plan that involves blocks and getting your front lift from the shocks instead of the coils. The ride will be stiff as hell on any setting that isn't 0 on the 5100s. And as I'm sure your research on TW has revealed, you may need to budget for UCA's at 2.5" up front to get back to specs on your alignment.

I would advise that you consider other options that involve new coils and the proper length shocks in the rear. Good luck either way.

Yeah I'm aware of that and don't have a problem with that.
Id still need new UCA's just for 2.5"? Could I just eliminate all those issue by just sticking with a 265 tire?

The need for UCA's is based on the 2.5" of lift that you're after, not the tire size. You may or may not need them but like I said you should budget for them.

The UCAs have nothing to do with your tire size. It is about your suspension geometry. The higher the lift, the harder it is to get enough caster into the alignment. Inadequate caster makes the truck more squirrely, and the steering wheel does not want to return to center. At 2.5 inches, this will start being an issue. Aftermarket UCAs provide additional range for adjusting more caster into the alignment.

I'm running 5100s at bottom clip "0" with OME 885x coils and toytec 1/4" top plate spacer and am at 3" lift with 285/75r16 and SPC upper control arms. I rub cab mount at full lock in reverse and sometimes in drive when turning half lock and going up an incline

Rubbing with 285s seems to be highly variable depending on specific wheel type and offset, tire brand/model (variation in same size across brands and models), and mudguards (those will need to go/be replaced with aftermarket).

And @scocar is correct, you will want/need upper arms for alignment purposes regardless of tire size just due to the lift. If you stick with factory upper arms, your camber will be off and the factory ball joint will now be at an angle which will cause stress and pre mature wear or worse, failure.

So I can run the set up as is, but just the alignment is a possible problem that could occur?

It will occur. A very competent alignment tech can reduce the effect to some degree, but not get it into "spec." feel. Most alignment techs suck at this and don't get it. At higher speeds on the freeway, you'll be working your steering wheel full time.

At 2.5" lift with factory upper arms you'll end up wearing the tires out faster than normal due to alignment not being in spec. The SPC upper arms are adjustable and come with the spec sheet that they lay out on what to set it at. The balljoint is also removeable/replaceable with these arms. Your other option is a total chaos uniball style upper arm for $685

They really do suck with aftermarket UCA's. Many don't even want to touch them. Especially tech's in the bigger shops that are trained for "toe & go" service.

It seems the real struggle is the adjustable LR style, not the uniballs, which have no adjustment. Up top, anyway...

Yes but even with uniballs they struggle to keep in mind that the truck is now lifted and aligning to factory caster specs as their computer shows just won't suffice. Maxing out caster while keeping camber and toe near 0 is a foreign concept to them. I'm actually going to seek out a 4X4 shop for my next alignment and see what they can do for me even though my numbers are quite good right now. Second opinions are always nice.
