Asking another random question: I'm needing to buy a cordless drill for around the house. I had a Craftsman that the charger quit working or wouldn't charge the batteries anymore. It was a 3/8' drive. I've looked at Lowes and I've seen some Porter Cable, DeWalt, and Bosch cordless drills. I'm thinking about stepping up to the 1/2" drive so the ones I'm looking at is this but the Bosch I'm not going to include b/c its out of my budget. I'm trying to stay in the $120 range.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I've had both Porter and Dewalt in the past and can't complain about either. My present collection is all Dewalt. Both are good in my opinion. They are both owned by the same parent company; Stanley Black & Decker. If it were me, I'd probably get the one that was on sale.

@OZ-T, is there a reason to curb the skylights like that? Was it designed that way, or is it to deal with snow/rain? Could it also overlay the roof, causing a minimum "curb" effect? Hopefully that makes sense.

Be cool to just track the stars/Milky Way. Pretty sure I'd have to set up a reclined gazing chair right under one of them. With a small table for my bourbon and phone/astronomy app.

Curbs are installed to lift the skylight above the roof plane to minimize the risk of water getting around the skylight with rain but also melting snow / ice dams

The skylight curbs on this job look really tall at the moment because we haven't installed the foam panel insulation that goes on top of the roof deck yet , once the foam is installed , the curbs will only project 6" above the metal roofing

I see that every night from my deck... you need to move away from the city lights.

Yeah no shit. At the new house we should see a slight improvement. The best approach is to just head to Carson Pass.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
My Dad has been working on our family's house since 1960, it was built in the early 1800's. IMG_0695.jpg
I thought I had some clearer pics of the house, but anyway it is a traditional adobe hacienda, shaped like a U with a courtyard in the center.
In the 1800's it was a stagecoach stop between Santa Fe and Bernalillio, and also the place where everyone brought their wheat to be processed from the area.
The house was in bad shape in the 60's, lots of walls had fallen, my dad has basically rebuilt a majority of it over 50 years. One huge section that used to be stables or a barn, we haven't gotten to.
He started last week. He basically chipped and brushed all the old adobe off the original rock foundation, and started laying the new adobes on top.IMG_1640.jpgIMG_1621.jpg IMG_1634.jpg
Here's what it looked like before, were going to knock this down next week and rebuild it.IMG_1635.jpgIMG_1639.jpg
We have three rooms to rebuild that are connected to the house, hopefully by next summer we can have the walls and vigas up.IMG_1626.jpg
I really enjoy seeing everyone's projects, hope you guys enjoy!
