Beat my record. I was in the area of 2k to 4k when I got sandwiched in my 16. Oh well, got my '17 and I'm happy now

File a claim, get it inspected and take the money and get an aftermarket armor bumper!

I would get it looked at, frame problems can become a nightmare if left unchecked. I would rather get it checked out than to wonder if it's safe or not.

Exact same hit here... rear ended front vehicle in a 4 car accident on the freeway . I work at a dealership body shop as a collision tech. I measured it on the genesis clear bill of health .. It took it all in the hitch because this is the bumper blown apart... nothing to it ... just a hitch and plastic .

For your sake, I hope this is the 'new truck jinx' and is out of the way. For me, it was once 3 weeks in, less damage than yours, and I had the gal pay for it - brand new rig, I want to be brand new. Next was about 7 months later, more damage to plastics and metal pieces, even bent the hitch - this guy had just been in my spot, so took care of contacting the insurance to get this fixed. Third time was another 7 months later, smashed really badly by a hit and run with offroad equipment, $9k in damages.

Before you finish that thought, my plate bumper is awaiting minor modifications before being sent out to powder coat and install.

Can't that portion of the black plastic bumper be pulled off and a new one put back in place? I bet the part is inexpensive.

Thats nothing. I was driving a snow plow several years back and took out 1/2 dozen or so used cars when I lost control. For some unknown reason the Toyota dealership decided to keep me on.

Going to call insurance co. tomorrow and get it in to get checked out. I had thought of frame issues as I was inspecting it right afterwards, but the bed to cab gaps and bumper to bed gaps all look just the same as it did when I drove it off the dealer's lot on Saturday. I know, as I checked gaps as part of my inspection for the misaligned bed issue (yes it has it).

The cracked bed thing is a very good point I didn't consider as well. A hairline crack I could never see now could turn into a much bigger problem in the future. Not taking that risk.

My fuggin' luck. If I take away the 120 miles it put on the odometer to get from the dealer I bought from in San Diego up to here Saturday, I've got a total of about 35 miles and 4 days of driving under my belt before this bonehead hits me.
