Need some advice on differential drop

    Could use some help ,I have 14 trd off road,getting ready to put bilstein 6112's on front for 2 1/2 lift and 5100's on rear with 1 1/2 blocks on rear,question is do I need a diiferential drop ?looked around and I'm sure this information is on forum, just couldn't find it, ty

    It's personal preference. It helps a little bit, but not much. People who run a diff drop are fine, and people who don't run a diff drop are fine.

    It's one of those add on purchase items.. Most companies will sell you on it because it's purely profit and newbs think they need them. Keep that diff tucked safely up in the truck.

    The needle bearing is something you should change out if not done already while its apart. The diff drop will give a small amount of angle relief for the boots. I did one but I'm lifted 3" and think it help a little. I think it's all a personal preference tho to.

    Yeah, that's why I did it too. I didn't do anything TOO crazy off road and figured that little bit of boot relief may end up saving them.

    Don't waste your money on a diff drop,they NOTHING for your truck,and is just another gimmick too get your money.

    It should be called a diff rotate. The rear mount is on top of a cross member, the spacers go under the forward mounts, this just rotates the diff. The CV axles go in closest to the rear of the diff so you're not getting much if and CV axle drop.

    Those two pictures are not taken at the same angle,so it makes it look like the drop kit is doing more too reduce the angles than it actually is,which is not hardly worth the effort.
