I have an '04 Highlander I've had since new. Since it only has 116k, my wife likes it and it's been trouble free, I've decided to refresh a few things and keep it a few more years.

It has a JBL system (not the one like in the limited) that has a rear mounted amp, steering controls, double din w/6 disc changer and tape deck. The disc changer, which I only used on road trips, has quit functioning.

I'd like to replace the unit. I don't want nav or satellite stuff. Don't 'need' a CD or tape unit.

Not looking to upgrade speakers or amp, but do want to keep OE amp in place. So really looking more PnP oriented, willing to buy whatever kits are required.

Important that final install has a nice trim fit/finish. Of course it will be aftermarket, but I want it to look correct in fit, not a hack job.

I would like aux input that will allow use of an MP3 player or phone input, a USB port that would allow a memory stick input, and the capability to have an adapter that allows the steering controls to stay functional. Also would like the illumination to be very similar to the dash.

Touch screen is ok, not required. Bluetooth for phone would be fine, not required.

So, I see 'media receivers' that look like they might fit the bill. Some are single din, some double. Single is fine as long as I can get the right install kit. Like one with a pocket below the unit or something that the phone could slide in.

IF there was a double din that supported an aftermarket backup camera, that might be nice. Not required, but a possible upgrade.

Any recommendations on brands, sources, things like that that I could assemble a package to meet my goals would be awesome.

    TIA
