Just had to do a lot of work on my 97 Taco to get her back on the road. New head gasket and radiator, new catalytic converter, new belts and hoses, new U-Joint, as well as all the little stuff like spark plugs, fluids etc. Now I'm thinking I want to paint her. Not sure if I want to go with original color maroon or a new look... I was thinking graphite or gunmetal grey. What do y'all think?

I think a color change is difficult to pull off and look right unless you're ready to spend more than the truck is worth.

Do what you want - take the time to consider all the options and don't take any shortcuts. I don't normally recommend plasti-dip, but for considering a color change it might be worth it to see what it looks like and it's cheaper than vinyl, but temporary if you don't like the color. I'm into color and wouldn't be happy if a truck that I am keeping for a long time isn't the color I want. That said take your time. The right deal on a paint job can be found through asking around. It's mostly labor so finding someone with experience, plenty of references, and a place to do it for cash is going to save you a lot of money. The more you know the less you spend
