If you can get the truck for a good deal and do as much of the work yourself - that could be a good deal.

Chit, I'd fix that and make it into a pro, U can do most of it yourself, I'd get a cheap aftermarket fender if they're available now and drive it to the paint shop.

If it wasn't in a collision, I'd buy it for $19K.

Warning the miles you've been given don't match!!! See link

Unless you're buying it from copart directly NO! Don't wire any money to anyone

with today's frame straightening tools, I'm not that concerned only the man working behind matters to me, the aftermarket body parts is the only gripe as they sometimes need a little tlc to fit right and can drive you to reach for the tequila bottle, but the day after you usually get it all hammered out

I just hope the OP sees that it's the same truck in the link. Unless he has an in with the insurance company, he's basically giving his money to a scammer. The tip off is that $19k is way too low even wrecked

I was thinking the insurance had totaled it being a new one, and thus the low price, insurance is crazy

I would not be surprised if the ending price at auction would be in the low twenties. I can't see an insurance company just leaving money on the table.

    Salvage title branded TOTALED.

That would eliminate all interest from me.

If you can fix it yourself, you may get a good deal.

Just hope that you like it a LOT because that totaled salvage title will haunt you when you try to sell it.

In the OP original pic it didn't look too bad, but in the CoPart link you can see that the passenger side is crunched too.

There may be lots more damage behind the front bumper than what it looks like.

Not busting on you. I love older Yotas. I have an 83 gem sitting in the driveway waiting to be restored once I'm done building my house.

    Mostly stuff I built.
If it is a manual jump on it.

Edit: I looked at it the link above that is an auto trans TRD OR double cab long bed. Manuals don't exist in that configuration.

That website looks borderline scammy and ad like. I will say this that even buying from Copart/IAA/Adesa sight unseen is risky when it comes to salvage vehicles. It's like match or POF things always look better in pictures. There's a reason why an insurance company declared it a total loss esp when it was this new.

35% value deduction for the salvaged title alone.
Wouldn't pay more thank 16k for this truck.

Looks like a pretty easy fix. If it was damaged during the unload like you were told then it's just sheetmetal. Fender, hood, door, and some misc stuff. The salvage title could be a problem, unless you keep it forever and turn it into a dedicated rock crawler when you're ready for another one. :)

Only way I'd consider it is if you work at or are really good friends with someone who owns a body shop.
