Alright boys here's my new 06' sr5 double cab long box.... I'm open to any and all suggestions. Basically guys you get to pick how I should build her up. Mostly a daily driver, however live in Minnesota so lots of winter, hunting, fishing. And want to try not to lose to much mpg.
List of what I'm thinking lift, tires, hood cowl, topper, camo wrap or graffics, different side steps, window(smoker) drip shields, front bumper, floor mats, seat covers, mud flaps, fender flares(after lift&tires.IMG_3267.jpgIMG_3265.jpg

@HeadStrong Off-Road for the lift. 5100's with 887's and Dakar leaf pack.
Don't go bigger than a 265/75/16 if your worried about mileage.

Did you get the extended 5100s or standard for the rear? I have the standard length right now and I'm trying to make sure I'm ok with getting Dakar

I went with BP51's all around. It's possible to go either way though. With standard they will become a limiting factor in axle droop. But you won't need to worry about longer break lines and what not.

Thanks. So basically what your saying is my rear will end up in the air more when offroading? If I get extended I have a bit more play?

    5100s set at 0
    Wheelers 3 leaf Progressive AAL
Tires are 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers.

Handles great, just as the TRD OEM suspension only just a little higher. AAL with the overload left in is smoother than I expected but I do run about 100lbs of stuff in my toolbox. Haven't had any issues with it offroad but so far has been limited so far to just dirt roads and the beach.

Assuming you have 885s also you have three options to level:

    1. Go up a notch on the 5100's but it's not recommended to preload aftermarket springs however some do.

    2. Go up to 887s which will raise the front instead of preload the 885s as per option 1

    3. 885s and run the 3 leaf AAL without the overload in but that reduces payload.

Stock leafs are squeaky by themselves, AAL whether single or 3 leaf doesn't change the stocks from getting squeaky as it's in the design.

You want Dakars then get Dakars....

I'm very happy with the 3 leaf progressive and would recommend that over a single AAL, the thickness of the 3 leaf pack and curve helps gradually increase the arch of the stock leafs for height increase whereas the single leaf AAL relies on arching alone making for a stiffer ride. That's why most recommend them if you're not going to a custom / replacement leafpack.

If I were going heavier loads, a cab with rack or need a lot of articulation I would consider a replacement leafpack as most would probably exceed the 5100 capabilities. In that case I would look to at least 5160s or something similar in a reservoir shock. For just one or two inches in a light packed bed the 3 leaf AAL and 5100 should suffice.

As far as I know, all 3 leaf AAL are about the same in construction, Wheelers Offroad or Headstrong seem to have the best price, usually 1/3 cheaper than the ICON pack but appear to be same quality.
