I have a white double cab that has amazing paint except the lower front doors and rocker panels have rock chips. I plan on keeping this truck for a while so I want to get this repaired before it gets worse. So here are some options I have come up with.

    #1 Professional paint job:
Itll look great and blend well but won't resist new rock chips

    #2 color matched line x
It won't look as good but will hold up better, and cost a good bit of money.

What other options are there? Any input?

I'd do line-X. PO for my truck had the rocker panels RE-painted. It actually looks like crap whoever did the work... Anywho. It's getting chipped up again.

Be away. Line-x quoted me somewhere in the ballpark of $1500. Because tons of prep work is involved. Pulling the bed, getting inside the door jams etc... But a professional paint job would probably be around the same cost.

Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0’s in the rear, Total Chaos UCA’s, Al-lpro expo leafs, K&N cold air intake, TRD headers,Magnaflow catback exhaust,URD short throw shifter, switched out my 60/40 bench seat for some Tacoma Limited seats, Replaced the vinyl shift boot for a leather one, completely soundproofed the cab w/ Frost King. Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
I've looked into this because my hood is peppered w/ rock chips. I'd like to do a full paint job but a good quality one is around $4k. Being that I'll be off roading that would be a complete waste of money. I did see a few YouTube videos and I basically came up with the oem touch up paint and an orbital buffer, an extremely soft sandpaper and buff it out, throw some good rubbing compounds followed by a good quality wax.

I called about a quote to get it painted. The man basically said that each panel has to get painted entirely so I would end up paying for the whole rocker panel and both doors instead of just the damaged areas. If I got it line x I would just do under that body line on the chassis and the fender well of the bed
