Have a 2010 tacoma access cab 50,000 miles ...driving feels like driving over small rumble strips around 30 mph on deceleration also rpm fluctuate up and down around that 30 mph speed range .. I'm stumped .. not sure if it's carrier bearing .. trans .. or tc .. maybe even rear brakes because sometimes when I brake I feel a vibration like mushy vibration in brake pedal

Hi, I had an 07 access cab with about 70,000 miles start the same thing(rumble strip between 35-40mph when the rpms were low800-1000) the sensation would imedeately stop when I took my foot off the gas or reved it. It was worse up hill or towing. I took it to a transmission shop that my dad really trusts. The didn't know what was wrong until they fixed it. Apparently it was a celonoid valve in the trans. That was only a couple weeks ago. We'll see if the issue comes back. Hopefully this helps. Good luck.

This is pretty much EXACTLY what I'm dealing with right now, low RPM ~30mph feels like I'm going over rumble strips. Would you be able to tell me exactly what solenoid was replaced?

Rumble strip disorder. I drove with it for over a year because no one knew what it was. Toward the end it started happening in other gears/ speeds, always low rpm. It never seemed to cause other issues but I only put anout 10k miles on it sence it started. Ive heard of this problem with Tacomas, tundras, and prerunners. I've heard some people have had limited success changing the transmission fluid(not flushing) with a slightly thicker fluid. The name of the shop is D and R Transmissions in Franklinville, NJ., 856 728-8070. He says here that he replaced the lock-up solenoid. That's about all I know, maybe you could talk to someone there about it. Cheers.

Yeah no problem. I'm really curious to hear if the results are repeatable. Please let me know how it turns out.

I'm going to try fluid drain/fill first, but if that doesn't help it's most likely out of my scope of abilities and I'll have to take it somewhere. On an unrelated (maybe?) note, my check engine light came on a few days ago and apparently my O2 sensor is bad. Gotta replace that too.

So I drained/filled 2250ml of ATF last weekend and added in a tube of Shudder Fixx and the vibrations are almost completely gone. It used to happen at low RPMs in any gear, now I only get a tiny bit of vibes when initially accelerating from a stop. I'm going to chalk that up to something else in the drivetrain this time, since I also added a leaf to my springs this weekend, I think the new vibe I have is a worn center support bearing on the driveshaft.

I also plan on doing another drain/fill or two over the next several weeks to get more of my old ATF swapped out for fresh.

Did you use the Toyota brand fluid? I did a drain and fill a while back,, Didn't help. Added some shudder stop.. didn't help. seems like it just gets worse

I replaced exactly what I drained out with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CTUSEMU/
And also added a tube of this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002JMLQU/

I also did a 3M fuel system cleaner kit, I don't think that would have been the fix but who knows, maybe that was part of it too?

I've read places that it can also be a bad torque converter, or as said earlier in this thread there's a solenoid in the trans that might need replacing. Not my area of expertise, I think I got lucky with my fluid change. Good luck.
