I found a crazy good deal on a Snugtop HiLiner fairly close to where I live. I had been looking at a hardshell RTT + mid-rise bedrack, but this deal has me reconsidering.

I've never setup a shell before. What gasket do I need? I've researched this a bit and the 'Super Cap Seal' seems to be highly regarded. What gasket length and width should I get for a 2012 AC for mounting a Snugtop HiLiner?

Appreciate any help you can provide.

    Thanks,
    DJM

There's one that has extra thickness up against the cab. It's not cheap, but I'd consider that. I think I found it on Amazon. I used the one that's basically a strip with two tubes - if that makes any sense. Mine leaks up by the cab.

My leer 100xq and leer legend caps I've had both have a double bubble seal attached to the bottom on the cap rail. There's a thread in the 3rd gen section about a seal that people are using, on Amazon it's $13

I talked at length with the guy who installed my snugtop. He insisted on going the extra length to pull and seel under the plastic bed caps. Said that was a common area for leaking.
For what it's worth it's been 5 years and I have never had a single leak

Great info, thanks. Found the thread in the third gen forum as well -- good info there. Currently, I live in Santa Barbara (rain?) but I am moving back to Portland OR soon (sun?) so the sealing is a real concern.

    Cheers,
    DJM
