Every year I head out for a month or three and each year I get a better idea of what I want to travel in as well as how. I've learned the things I can live without and the things that are a must have for me and some of that depends on how long I'm out. A month and I don't care about laundry but longer and I want to be able to do it myself. After a few years of doing this I've pretty much got it down to the Tacoma and the smallest enclosed trailer I can stuff everything in.

    Here's a list of things I need:

    Sleeping for two
    AC
    Hot water
    A LOT of solar
    Microwave
    Shower
    Stove
    Toaster oven
    Fridge
    Roof vents
    Sink
    Laundry
    Four camera security system

I pretty much have all of that built into this rig in my plans though I'm going to get it about half way to where I want it and tweak after the first outing. For example, I'm only going to run 460 watts of solar on the roof with a 5,500 watt battery bank but I may up the to 920 with a rack on the Tacoma if it isn't enough power to get me what I need. I also won't be going out the first time with my water tanks installed but will work on those over time.

This setup will be modular with the bed area and kitchen area removable for tweaking and so on. Under the bed will be my inverter (1,500 watt pure sine wave), MPPT charge controller, 24V AGM battery bank, 24V charger/converter, AC unit, storage and all around the heat of the system.

Under the kitchen sink and stove will be the chest freezer converted to fridge (only uses 11 watts per hour) and microwave.

The roof rack is going to just hold the two 230 watt solar panels.

There will be a tongue box eventually to house a Honda 1000 watt generator and a tankless hot water heater above that.

The flooring is currently 10g cold rolled steel but when I find a deal on something I like I will toss that down.

For the insulation I'm going to do a JM AP Foil R6 polyiso rigid board foam.

That's all I can think to tell you guys for now but I'm open to any thoughts, questions, ideas, criticism (except for my choice of welders) and all around feedback or trolling.

This is the bed frame, the door I'm making for the side (it didn't come with one), the kitchen area I need to build tomorrow as well as a few basic pictures of things I'm having to do like extend the stabilizing jacks after the axle flip.

It's funny, I was thinking about doing something similar.
