Have been trying to patch this up. Looks like the paint has been eaten, but I Do not k ow how. I have tried a clay bar, wax. Has anyone ran into this and shed some insight? It is not corroding or spreading. Thanks.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Damaged clearcoat. Nothing will 'fix' it but a repaint of the panel.

Could be from any number of things, including bird poo sitting there a few days.

    yep..
You may be able to "fix" it, by masking off the area, sanding away the worst of it while being careful not to eat through the color. A few coats of clear on top, then a light sand and polish to blend the edges to the rest of the panel.

This is risky to do but if It were my truck id give it a shot.

Have your hood Line-X'ed. I would get the top of the cab done while you are at it.

Have used both wax, compound, and clay bar.

If a polish, especially with a polisher did not touch it you are looking at permanent paint damage more than likely. Probably a repaint deal.

Possible culprits: sap, bird shit, berries etc.

You have to get that stuff off your paint as soon as you see it or you'll get etching.

That's a bird bomb, the acids in the bird shit etched your clear coat and unfortunately its toast, nothing short of a respray will fix that!
