I'm not particularly eager to do the interior cleaning myself. What can you advise me on this?

I wouldn't say I like cleaning the car's interior, and I'm allergic to smells from chemicals. That's why cleaning the car is absolute torture for me. Because of my allergies and aversions, I wash very rarely. And usually, my car is in terrible condition. But after seeing your tips, I decided to make my life easier and trust a Professional Cleaning Company in Puget Sound. I am insanely happy. Now my car is always sterile clean. And I am always satisfied and full of energy.

You could find a mobile detailer in your area that will come to your house and do it for you. Most detailers will have different interior packages based on how much cleaning you want them to do (vacuum/windows/wipe down vs. shampoo/steam/etc.). You could also take it to a detail shop for the same thing if you don't mind the inconvenience.

Most dirt can be removed with a common solvent that is nearly free. Just plain ol' water. If you need/want something to help, try a bit of your preferred hand soap. Need to absorb odors, try baking soda. Many times the basics work very well.

Apply with soft brush, rag and elbow grease.

Really no need to spend $ on special products.

After using the 1275 for years I figured I would upgrade to the MC1385, IME, the 1385 was trash compared to the 1275, sure a lot more features, but steam output was abysmal as was temperature compared to the 1275. Also, there was less pressure/velocity with the steam from the 1385 compared to the 1275. I attribute that to the much smaller nozzle orifice diameter. I cleaned some grout to see if I was crazy and the 1275 outperformed the 1385 every time, even with both extension wands and a nylon brush head vs a brass brush head on the 1385 with no extensions, the 1275 did a better job in half the time.

TL;DR: the 1275 is the best machine mculloch makes IME. save your money and just stick with that model.
