Hey guys, wanted to chime in with an alternative to the expensive P3 controller many Tacoma owners use.

I went with the Reese Towpower brake controller and Tekonsha 3017 brake controller harness. Using this harness and controller it was 100% plug and play into my 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport. You can get both of these pieces for under $60 shipped. The controller matches the Tacoma interior/switches well and was a PERFECT fit into the little pocket as seen. Works great, used it this past weekend to tow my 4200lbs camper.

I am ordering the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller from Amazon for my 2017 Tacoma ... does anyone know if the Bargman 3017P Brake Control Adapter will work with it? Or do I need to order the Tekonsha connector cable. Part number appears same.

    Anyone know?

They are probably the same, but the Tekonsha cable listed in the post before yours will definitely work and is $2 cheaper, it's the one I used.

Just did the same install on my 2016 SR5 using A Draw-Tite I-Command through Etrailer.com for $69.46 including the adapter. Looks exactly like the Reese but different decal. Check out:
    https://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Brake_Controller.aspx
This unit is small and shaped just right...
Install was simple...pop out coin box. carve a spot in rear to allow pig tail through, sat it on 3_M double face trim tape, easy plug in to OEM provided plug in hidden behind LH foot panel, job done! 15 minutes.
Works an looks great, no knee banging and controls easily accessible..almost looks OEM!

I am ordering from Canada (Amazon.ca) ... that cable is $50 CDN ... the Bargman one is $20 ... i'd rather get the cheaper one if possible ...

I use the tekonsha 90250 wireless RF brake controller. We use two vehicles to tow and just switch the control unit from vehicle to vehicle. If I sell the trailer, I can remove the power module unit easy and put it on a new trailer. It works great.

Disregard then, apparently Amazon Canadian prices are complete different than the US. The Tekonsha cable is $12 here and the Bargman one is $14.

Folks, I just tried to locate this connector on my 2013 and unless I'm totally blind, I can't find it. There are no loose connectors behind my kick panel. The truck is set up with a tow package so this is really puzzling to me. Thoughts? What next? I need to hook up the controller so that I can tow my trailer.
I know that I can get this damned thing wired by the shop where I bought my trailer but I don't entirely trust them and I'd like to avoid the expense. The blinkers on my last truck always acted oddly after they installed the wiring/controller.

So I assume the 2015 Tundra adapter is different than a 2010 Tundra adapter?

Yes. The Tundra from 2000-2014 are all the same, and then 2015-2018 are the same. The 3024 is for 00-14 and 3017 is for 2015-2018

You will need the harness as well, it will plug into the P3 and into the plug that is one the trucks long as it has the factory tow package.

What Dune Sport did you order? I'm thinking about ordering one too, just concerned about weight while hauling a toy.

14 x 8 fire storm. We got some extra cabinets, no oven, wider bathroom, electric bed, no awning, etc. Only the things we wanted. They estimated 3500 to 3600 dry

We only have about 700 pounds of quad and bike, wet

I'm looking at the 18 ft Fire Storm. I need to give them a call, I've just been playing around on their website.
