I am 6 as well and don't need steps on my taco even if it was lifted 3 inches, my F350 on the other hand they are really needed with my 35s and 4 in lift.

everyones comment about washing the roof of your truck from the side steps ? Why not just hop in the bed............. Yeah if you have a cap you might be SOL but still. the side steps for me just help my kids and wife in and out.

i have them but don't use them either as i'm 6'1". passengers use them all the time and they're great for washing the roof (have a tonneau cover). and touch wood - no door dings yet.

so last night I was practicing getting in/out of my recently acquired prerunner and the reality is, I have to duck to get my head in -- mostly because the seat height (limited leather heated version) to the height of the top of the door entry is small. No height adjustment on the seat either. Crap, are these trucks just smaller than I thought? If I put my butt on the seat first, then try to get the rest of my body in, I really have to bend my head down a good deal to get in.

tonight I will practice diving in head first.. ha.
nerfs are still coming off for sure. I might look for a small inconspicuous step for the right side for my short passengers (wife and grandkids). Something like a small step for both doors with no bar along the length, if that exists.

I'm 5'4" and my wife is 5'2" - They're still a pain for short people....I only keep them on because they give me something to stand on when tying our tandem kayak down or zipping the cover on the RTT.

This is all with a stock height DCLB prerunner...

I don't know what brand of steps came with my truck, but I'm 6' and either plop my right cheek on the seat and rotate in or do a left foot on the step, right hand on the grab bar, and do a controlled swing in, butt first with my head ducked a little. I've been doing less of the second one because my left knee is messed up and it takes my weight.

What I find on the first entry type is my right leg gets wedged in under the steering column... can't win. Lol

Stock Tacomas are too short for steps.
