The only thing I trimmed was the plastic underneath and the black fender flare. No metal was trimmed.

Finally got the Allpro Off-Road APEX sliders on the truck this week.

This was a longer project than anticipated.

First, it took some time to work through the bare metal prep and paint. After searching around I decided to use Rustoleum Professional-Grade truck bed liner instead of powder coating.

    IMG_5354.jpg

Once that was set I got ready to mount them to the frame. Unless you have a bunch of jacks, clamps and supports it really is a two man project. The biggest surprise though was the amount of time it took to drill through the frame to connect all the bolt-on hardware.

    IMG_5313.jpg

We ran into some trouble with the mounting instructions that came with the product. The generic instructions on All Pro's website only contained a generic 05+ manual, and the third gen trucks have some additonal prep and reconfigure items to knock out on both the passenger and drivers side of the frame before you can mount 'em properly. I called them on the phone and they were extremely helpful.

    (Passenger side junction box removal.)

    Here's the end result:
    IMG_5340.jpg IMG_5353.jpg IMG_5348.jpg IMG_5350.jpg
All considered...extremely happy with the result.

@allpro thanks for the additional mounting instructions for the 16+ model!!!

Hey thanks for asking...no! Have to thank my wife for that one. She has a small vinyl decal side job, that started out as a hobby. She's been working for a few years mostly in the home decor arena but if you're interested in a pair I can get you set up. We also cut vinyl for the stamped Tacoma emblem on the tailgate.

It prevents the exhaust from hitting anything off-road. Plus looks better in my opinion
No change in sound. At least in the cabin I can't tell any different

Ditched the standard license bracket in favor for a slybrackets one. Mostly for looks if I'm honest. Now I just gotta plug the holes! Also picked up (yet another) TRD badge... this time coated it in clear plastidip to try and preserve the color as long as I can. Also immediately swapped for stainless hardware and plastidipped the huge washers black. This is the last time I'll try the TRD badge...

Looks good! This was going to be my next purchase. Are the side leds bright enough to make it worth a buy?
