Buy a Bluetooth OBDII reader off of Amazon (~$15) and download the Torque app. WAY cheaper than a dedicated reader.

I got the BAFX scanner from Amazon. Works well. My friend with a Dodge needed to borrow it, a lot.

Well there is a couple of standalone scanners that work fine, but just basic information.
There are also plenty of ELM adapters that you can use to connect apps to your phone. Again basic information.

You said you want a dedicated product.
Well, you can't beat Toyota Techstream.
There are plenty of chinese knockoffs out there. search for toyota vci cable.
