Got a little extra scratch in the bank and looking at spending it on the truck.

I have narrowed it down to 3 categories ( I think...). Ideally, I would like to upgrade it for truck camping, but it is my daily driver so I don't want to go full overland (even though I want to)

    1. Sliders. not an offroader per se, but armor that doubles as a running board would be nice.

    2. Bestop or Softopper. Can't decide if I need side windows, but a foldable cap appeals to me.

    3. Prinsu Rack. Have the OEM one and rarely use it so no real reason other than I like the way it looks / functions.

    Thoughts?

    Sliders are pretty crappy steps.

Ask yourself if you really need a foldable bed cap.

You have no use for a prinsu rack so why buy one.

In my opinion, put it towards payments on the truck. If it's paid off, use it for gas. Seems like you really don't need to upgrade anything. Go on a nice date with your significant other and call it a day.

While the wheeler in me wants to say sliders, for your purposes I believe the bestop is the more logical upgrade.

Pay off the truck. Then, every month when your payment would normally be due is bonus time!

I didn't. Truck payments are def something I wasn't thinking all that hard about at the time, but I am starting to reconsider.

Best move you'll ever make. Personally I wouldn't modify something that I don't hold the title to. Stop paying the bank tons of money just to float the loan on a truck. I'd pay that thing off as soon as you possibly can and that's the best financial advice I can give you.

Prinsu rack all day long. Paying off the truck is responsible but not nearly as cool looking!

My SOS concepts bolt on sliders work great for a step rail to get to the top of the truck, They are one of the furthest sticking out sliders there is however. Works great to protect against assholes in cars that swing their doors open.

You seem a little hesitant about all your "major mods" i.e. Cap, Sliders, Roof Rack....

I voted other, and I would use that large sum of cash to upgrade many smaller mods that would be geared toward camping.... on board air, extra outlets, LEDs in the bed/wherever, build a dog platform, add a bottle opener in the bed, extra D ring tie downs.... the list goes on and on but you get what I'm trying to say with my vote!

I get your drift. I am actually pretty well set on your list. I already have OBA, got the hookup from Goalzero for power and LED, no dog (my work hours suck), got plenty of bottle accessing devices. D rings are on the to do list already. I am leaning towards a softoppper and put the rest on the balance of my truck.

It was easy for me to justify the softopper because i didn't have a cover of any type. So it's functional for keeping cargo dry and out of the element, and extremely versatile.

Fyi I think that GB closes today if you wanted to save some $$

Is it true that 'all dirt roads lead to Tech'?

I don't believe it, but it's what Cavaliers fans tell me. How should I respond?
