On Monday I will be picking up my very first taco, taco supreme that is! It's a 2015 access cab (wish it was double) pro with under 8k miles and garage kept and never saw rain. Unforentully the owner has passed away and I got it for a good price that I could not pass up. (I would buy a new OR next year if I did not pick this up)
I have a few plans I would like to do to it. But I am confused if I should lift it with a 3"mid travel, or keep it as is. I know the pro is pricey because of the suspension. But like I said the price was right.
I plan on driving from Nj down to Florida then back up to British Columbia this year. And a lot of driving in the mountains during the winter. I do not mind spending the extra money on the lift because of what I'm saving from not buying a new one.

That truck looks great as is. Don't lift it. Instead, focus on internal comforts such as enhancing the seats. Maybe get a hard top tonneau cover since you'll be traveling a lot and may need to cover your stuff up.

I'd keep it as-is for a bit personally. Has a nice suspension already. No need to spend the extra savings right out of the gate. It's a nice one, and after taking it out a few times, you'll get a feel for what you want to add. Then use that savings towards whatever that might be.

Well done on that purchase! Guys here tend to lift for a few common reasons...

    1) Increased ground clearance with bigger tires for off-road
    2) Looks and bigger tires
    3) Better suspension and handling (depending on shock systems) for on and off-road applications

By all means, don't be bashful if you want a more aggressive and unique look for the vehicle as many lift theirs for those reasons. If off-roading is something you might want to get into down the road, then I would consider spending some time to absorb all the different avenues with a strong mid-travel set up if you arnt already familiar. Some arnt aware that there is quite an extensive spectrum from spacer and drop bracket lifts to high end coilovers and complete leaf pack replacements. NJ has a pretty strong wheeling crowd, although unfortunately I havnt had a chance to meet these guys yet.

Any idea what your possible budget might be for a lift if you choose to go this route?

Just about 26k all said and done. I figured it is a good deal considering I would be spending about 10k more on a new one

Well damn with 6k you are privy to a lot of options man. If you want to stuff 33's it is suggested that you might want to get a cab mount chop done although some can get away with some interesting alignment configurations. With that budget, you could easily invest in a good set of adjustable 2.5 coilovers for the front and a new leaf pack and rear shocks for the rear. I got my tires from 4wheelparts, they tend to have a lot of good sales around the holidays...like memorial day and many times have free shipping as well.
