Dashboard rattle 2002 prerunner double cab

    Just bought this 2002 Tacoma Prerunner double cab and i love it but it has this rattle that seems to come from somewhere behind the radio/vent area I'm new to this site and hoping someone can help PLEASE...thanks

    It is really easy to take the radio out to look and see. There are a number of harness's and connectors behind there that might be loose.

    Thanks Glamisman i haven't tried anything yet only have had the truck a short time so this will be my first attempt i really hope i can find this rattle thanks for your help..

    Esb 5.5 with Kings Mcneil 6.5 fenders Other stuffs
    The vents can be taken out from the back and then you can use double side foam tape to try to silence all the plastics that touch and while you're in there try and put foam tape everywhere you can. Our dashes just kinda rattle a lot. You could take the whole dash out, it's not that difficult, and put foam tape everywhere.

    Yep, like rocket said - they just tend to have a rattle now and then. I just live with it. Thankfully, it's intermittent and tends to come from the right dash near the window. Annoying but tolerable. o_O

    Congrats on the purchase. Have fun.

    On my 02 Tacoma I put a firm strip of foam between my dash and the windshield in the area above the glove box and it got rid of my rattle.

    Mine comes from the passenger airbag cover and only makes noise when it's hot outside.. drives me nuts

    Very common and a lot of info on how to repair it on this site.

    I took a can of minimal expanding foam when window shield was being replaced and give it a super quick shot of foam. With window out you can see the alignment pins that make the noise. I hit each one with about a quarter size shot of foam. Been silent for 2 years.
