It does make sense, that's sort of how I picture making it work. Trimming and going behind the cover channels. I can't wait to see how it plays out:thumbsup:

Whenever I read "Mounts with ease onto round, square and most factory crossbars", would these bars be included in that?

More specifically, a Yakima Load Warrior basket and Yakima Front Loader bike rack.

The funny thing about Yakima (and others), is that they don't really tell you what the maximum crossbar dimensions that they're gear can handle are.

But, I know people have bought our bars for Yakima stuff, and I haven't heard of it not working.

    FYI....our crossbar is 1.5" high x 3" wide.

Got these installed to work with my Bakflip MX4. More cutting/trimming than I was expecting, but worth it for me. If you want to make it work on yours, just know that it's a commitment and that you have to be sure of where you want the bars to go.

You have to cut the plastic bed rail covers to accommodate the brackets.

    upload_2017-5-12_8-20-41.jpg

Because the brackets will sit on the painted bed, I put some adhesive rubber gasket material I got at Home Depot.

    upload_2017-5-12_8-21-56.jpg

You have to cut into the bed rail track to allow for the MX4 brackets. You cut each side of the C channel, but leave the flat area to help secure the track.

    upload_2017-5-12_8-41-45.jpg

The step I was not prepared for - the bracket sticks out into the bed more than the rail, requiring a trim to the MX4 channel. Otherwise, the MX4 rail sits too far inboard.

I think it turned out pretty good. Stoked to have locking storage in the bed, along with the ability to mount the RTT above it.

Yeah - I looked up the price to replace and they are $100 a piece, so I figured while painful, if I had to replace later it wouldn't be too bad.

The black bars look great. Did you paint them yourself?

Thanks - Yep. Just scuffed them up and used some Rustoleum flat enamel. We'll see how long it holds up - I think the black goes better with my truck than the grey.

I added them to my cart and used the discount, but then I realized it was gonna be $80+ to ship them across the country. Had to back down for a minute.

I am very happy with my KB Voodoo Crossbars. They are extremely sturdy and hold me, my lady, and our roof top tent with plenty of more weight ability than I expected. They sit very sturdy on the bed walls with no shifting or lack of stiffness. Needless to say I am not worried about loading these bars up with too much weight (within reason).

I had to do some initial tweaking when I first installed them (mainly because of my tonneau cover) and have some minor gripes about certain design/manufacturing issues with the Voodoo Hardware:
    1. The crossbars are very prone to having their coating/paint scratched off with heavy use (especially when the aluminum bars connected to my rooftop tent rub the Voodoo cross bars during loading and unloading the tent). This is also the case when installing and removing the crossbars from the mounting brackets in order to gain access to the full bed as the system fits tightly together, and in some cases, almost too tight. I suppose a little TLC and touch up paint maintenance every once and awhile will put a band aid on this to prevent rust which is my main concern with any steel hardware.
    2. The machined holes in the crossbars used to thread the bolts onto the bed brackets weren't lining up for at least three of the four holes. I had to drill them out slightly larger in order to properly seat the cross bars and fasten them to the brackets. This is not a big deal for most of us but for a non-handy consumer wanting to trick out their mall crawler taco with some sweet Voodoo Crossbars, they might scratch their heads, or worse, try and return them to Chad.

Because my tonneau cover has the top/side rails that must lay over the Voodoo Crossbar brackets, I ended up trimming the weather stripping on the tonneau side rails in order to prevent them from raising up too much, reducing the gap created after install. I then bought some rubber strips from Home Depot and filled the now raised gaps in between the mounting brackets. This seemed to work great and prevents most rain/water from getting into the bed.

In conclusion, very very very happy with my Voodoo Crossbars and my setup so far. So many more things to buy for my Taco though in order to get it perfect.

I also have the g4 cover so I'm glad you made it work with only trimming the weather stripping. Im probably going to add the bedrack instead though. Great write up and thanks for letting me know
