Unsupervised pups. I heard them having a blast but I'm still tired from yesterday.
My fault. I did tell them they were bad. Boxers were good. Both were right outside door when I came out. They were smart.

    Not Enough.
    Just found this thread...

Here's my little pup Maggie. Found her (well she found me I think) limping up out of a ditch in the neighborhood one night on the way home.

She stopped and stood in front of the truck whining, so I opened the door to go check for a collar, and before I could get out, she was in under my legs.

I put up a post on the neighborhood Facebook group and received the message I didn't want to. Someone saw a car dump her off at a stop sign not too long before I found her.

Poor thing was skinny, stinky, and exhausted. I didn't know what to do because I work quite a bit and it seemed like I was never home (single guy with no kids problems). Turns out she had Lyme Disease and Erlychia. In other words, she was a hunting dog that wouldn't run anymore, so they were done with her. Makes me sick that someone would do that, but I guess such is life when a dog is a tool and not a friend.

Well, I decided she was better off with me than the pound, or wandering the woods. So she got a major life upgrade. She's got a nice warm house, nice Tacoma to ride in, and even a couple boats to fish from.

She gets to go on all kinds of adventures now. She loves camping and the beach:

She's a pretty good fishing buddy too:

    IMG_20160513_194412.jpg

And she loves to explore things:

I'll make sure to post up some more of her adventures in here now that I know this thread exists!

Awesome to hear that you gave this poor pup a great home :proposetoast:. I seem to be the local dog drop off point for strays, I have had more than one just show up and I just don't have the heart to tell them no. :notsure:

Believe me, it was a tough choice. I live alone and work kind of long hours. I didn't want to be unfair to her. Took a while before my friends understood that I just can't go out all the time anymore like I used to. But I'd say by the way she's settled in that I made the right choice.

And I know what you mean. If I had the land, I honestly think I'd look into opening up a rescue. Even though they can be frustrating sometimes, dogs make life so much better.

Puppy sitting today. This is Kodiak. He's 6 months old of Bernese mountain dog and German Shepard. He is a registered emotional support dog. Awesome pup, well mannered and all ready knows most commands. My boxer/pit is going to be one TIRED boy today. :yay:

Love hearing stories like this. It's people like you that bring harmony to the universe by balancing out the acts of people like the POS that abandoned her. Thank you.

I was working on a drill rig this week in Leona valley near Palmdale. These bastards were about 50 feet from where I was working. Heard the rattle and got the shovel, bam, number 2 showed up. 2 headless rattlesnakes. I hate those things.

Thank you sir. I think it was meant to be. She's on a leash in a lot of those pictures just because it's public places. But at home, she's a total off the leash dog in my unfenced yard or when she joins me for a day at work. Explores, but doesn't wander too far. Not much of a believer in "higher powers" but if I'm wrong, then we probably crossed paths for a reason.

I had a similar experience recently in that I saw a puppy in need and responded. I want to believe it was meant to be.

We've since renamed him Chance. Didn't want him to go through life having to live up to the name Lucky. You could say he was lucky I found him. He's healthy, eating well, and getting large doses of love and affection. We're giving him the chance to live a better life.

With his 3-yo female playmate, Jelly.
