I have a dash cam in my Tacoma. To help provide additional information should I be involved I some sort of accident, I have created a small box which contains several LED lights to provide information at the time of the incident. I can monitor turn signals, braking, and headlights. What I would like to add is whether I am either stopped or in motion. Should I get dinged for failure to stop at a stop sign for instance. This has not happened, but would like this capability. What I am looking for is a voltage that is either 0vdc when stopped or 12vdc when stopped or vise-versa. I can work with the indicator with either voltage.

Any suggestions? Appreciate any assistance offered

    Hmm interesting.

Are you using a micro processor? If so you can connect to the speed sensor wire. It will pulse based upon speed. No pulse, no speed.

    (lifted from another site)
Reverse Light red/white + driver kick, gray 12 pin plug, pin 1
Speed Sense purple/white fuse box, black 13 pin plug, pin 5
Notes: Also found at the ECM behind the glove box, second plug from the bottom, pin 8.

Thanks for your response. I am not using a MP. currently just tapping into the wires just to the lower left of the steering wheel fuse panel. For the headlights, I am using add-a-circuit connections to piggy back off the high and low beam fuses under the hood. My LEDs have integrated resistor. I am not opposed to using an MP to do something like this, but don't have the technical back ground. I will look at the other options listed and see if they will satisfy my requirements. Is the panel you reference the on below/left of steering wheel or are all of these behind glove box?

I am trying to locate the Vss wire in the driver side fuse panel. Information received is that it is the black plug(only one) and the purple/white wire. I have located the plug, but no purple/white wire is present. Is this the right plug? The black plug is the inserted into the bottom left section of the fuse panel.
