Howdy, I just signed up and I'm hoping I can be pointed in the right direction. I'm sure there's already a thread on this, but I didn't find it through the search.

I just ordered a 17 DC Off-Road and as I wait to take delivery, I've seen some pics of similar Tacos with the 4runner 17" TRD Pro wheels, which look amazing. I want in.

Obviously I'm ordering new tires too, that's a whole other thing, but what's the solution for the TPMS system? The wheels apparently take a 20 degree FJ sensor, which I think is different than what's on the Taco. Will the stock sensors work?

5100s/OME 888s. Dakar leaf pack. Total Chaos UCAs. DeMello Sliders. BAMF Recessed Grille. Prinsu Cabrack and Toprack.
I got the TRD Pro wheels and took them to Discount tire to install with new tires. They were able to swap out the original TPMS from the stock wheels without a problem.

They should work. Only thing different would be alloy vs steel. If your current rim coming on the truck is alloy and the 4R rim is alloy then no issue.

Thanks, I was hoping as much. I will definitely be posting pictures when I get the truck, it just got a vin yesterday.

Looking around at what some of you are doing with your trucks, I think I just signed up for an expensive, but also awesome, hobby.

Black short bed, auto, with the jbl package. Should really stand out with black wheels.

I don't think I'll put a lift on it, for a while anyway, but I'm probably going to have to do the grille. Thanks to this forum, I have a pretty good idea of what I want the truck to look like :)

You can have them banded on your new wheels, they'll work just fine.

Either the Pro grille or the BAMF one, price difference isn't that big. I work at a Subaru dealer, so I can toss a tech a few bucks after hours and get it done pretty easily. I also have a good tint guy near by to do the front windows too.

Regarding the wheels, will the silver valve stems be noticeable? I'm blacking out this thing so much I'd be pretty bummed if they stuck out. I can't tell if it would be very simple to swap the stems off the tpms sensor.

They can band they sensors on the inside of the wheels and then use different(black) stems that will stick out. It's how I have mine done, they've worked fine for years now.

You might want to call the shop ahead of time, just to make sure they have the stuff there tho.

And DO NOT let them try and mount the stems sticking out from sensor, your tires will leak air like a sift if they don't fit right. It happened to me and I literally spent the whole night up every hour on the hour filling all four tires up, in 5degree temps. I was pissed. They tried using the stock ones on my SCS wheels and the angle was off, they didn't check for leaks.

After that happened /\ is when, they used different valve stems, and banded the stock/with sensors on the inside.
