im wanting a bit taller bigger tires on my pro. I don't want to cut splash shield or rub. What are you guys putting on and how do you like them?

He has helpful links in his sig in regards to many common questions about tire size and other things for new taco owners. It applies to the pro also.

Welcome be prepared to do at least some minor trimming to run anything larger than what is stated on the link in my sig below.

I'm running 285/75/16 with no trimming. Experienced a few very minor rubs after 6,000 miles and a lot of off roading

It fits underneath. Not exactly perfect (doesn't make it all the way back up into the spot that holds it) but it doesn't hang low enough to give you an issue. No need for cutting or bending anything and gives you the peace of mind you need.

I went to a used tire shop and got a decent shape tire for $50 installed and then sold the stock tire that was on Craigslist for $80

Well I put these tires on within 20 miles of driving off the lot... Do I'm the wrong person to ask lol

But hey, after spending $50k on a truck, what's a hundred dollars a year?

that is so true. I bought the Pro as I didn't want to have to mess with lift kits and rough ride. but these stock tires have to go...

I usually run 30 psi on the road. Sometimes on cold mornings they are as low as 27 28. But once you get up to speed and they're warm I'm generally at 32 33.

    Off-road I always go down to 15

They aren't crap, far from it actually, they were the top rated tire at tirerack for a long time. They just aren't the "cool look at me" aggressive AT tires all the street guys put on (cough KO2 cough). They are a little worse off road and a little better on road than the KO's so honestly it is an equal tire depending on the use for them (most the stock tires would do everything they need). I am sure TRD wouldn't have spent hundreds of thousands of miles and a couple years of testing to put "crap" tires on their top off road model...

They are soccer mom all terrain tires AKA not really all terrain tires.

    Let me rephrase my statement...

On road I'm sure they're great tires because they're on road tires.

    Off road they're crap.

And it's not the "cool looks at me" reasoning that I bought them. I bought them because I off road aggressively nearly every weekend and those Goodyear soccer mom tires wouldn't hold up ;)

yep, I put the 285 75 16 Coopers on, and they look a lot cooler, but the Wranglers are quieter, a bit more power, and by the look at least a mile a gallon worse. I sold the old ones for 100 a tire, and almost wanted to hang on to them...

I have a pretty good and uneven grade to get to my house, and the Wranglers did ok.... and like 60K miles, just not very cool
