Hey All... Sold my last "retro build" 2017 Tacoma a few weeks back so I started my next one. I had pics on here before...

    1.jpg

Really excited about this next build, starting with a 2017 Double Cab Short Bed Off-Road with the sunroof upgrade package. Going a different direction this time though.

OME suspension and Adjustable UCA's are in, wheels and tires are on. Same setup as the last one, knew everything worked nicely. Liking the no center cap look on this truck. TRD Pro grille is installed and CaliRaised light bar is in...

    image1.jpg image2.jpg image3.jpg image4.jpg

Waiting on some other parts to show up, doing the RCI Sliders and Bed Rack. My ARB Series III tent is here but need the rack to finish. Also have another 20 inch CaliRaised bar going on the rear of the rack. Going to do a custom TRD Overland sticker but the design and colors aren't chosen yet. I also have a TRD wall mount bottle opener going in the bed just inside the tailgate. Might be my favorite part of this new build.

Nice work. Thinking about the same Method NV wheels 17x8.5
Never liked the huge bulky center hub caps, looks way better with it out.
You should check these custom billet aluminum caps out for the wheels, makes it look complete and clean and not like its missing a hub cap.

A guy on this forum makes them for $200 a set
You can get them not engraved, all black.

OP you said you sold your last "retro build". That truck was for sale brand new with all those options at a dealer near Harrisburg. Did you build it for the dealer and then buy it?

I'm just curious where you got those side graphics made. Let me know if you don't mind...im local

I work at a dealer and build them for the showroom. Well, I personally don't build them. I order the parts and one of my technicians build it. We sell them customized.

I have two graphic designers on staff that do all of my web ads, billboards etc. We sit and think of ideas and they mock them up, do the final design and we have a local shop cut the vinyl and install.

It's a lot of fun building one of a kind trucks rather than just subcontracting them out. We aren't doing spacer kits, we try to build functional trucks and stand behind the work. It breaks up the monotony of selling 100+ Camry's Corolla's and Rav4's each month :)

I'll check him out, wonder if it's just for Ford, the hub sizes look different to me. I tried a TRD center cap out of a older tacoma beadlock wheel but it was too small. Thanks!

That retro 3rd gen looks sexy! Looking forward to see the next product. OP I am glad to know you guys take function into account. A few dealers in my area that sell custom build by dealer trucks go for looks and bank on the possible new owner to buy with his/her eyes. They figure out the wagon like ride once they sign the dotted line

From what I've read, they are the same size. I don't think Method made different size hub caps for different bolt patterns. I could be wrong but I would look into them. They keep the clean flush look, which is what your going for, while making it look complete and like there is nothing missing. Nice build coming up should be sweet

If you want retro, why not put some genuinely retro wheels on there? It's one of very few things that's vintage that's actually transferable to a brand new vehicle.

After over a month waiting for my bed rack and sliders, the new truck is done! It's going into the detail shop this afternoon and will hopefully be de-badged and detailed for my showroom this afternoon. Really came out nice, here's a sneak peek. More pics and parts list to come!
