Thanks for the pics man. SUA's always looked like they were dragging ass over obstacles. Seems like you are getting around no problems.

Was curious if anyone knows. I want to swap a tundra axle in my 02. But I already purchased a set of All Pro 4500T leaf springs. Would the tundra axle still work with these leaf springs? Not sure why it wouldn't but any input would be great.

it should work cuz all u need to do is Weld-on new axle perches, and move your shocks out side of your frame.
remount the load sensing proportioning valve

For the kits listed above dmz, giant, Camburg ect. youd want to go with at least a 14”+ shock through the bed for full benefits right? I might be in the wrong place but just installed archive garage hangers and looking into his sua kit. Around 1700$ for everything id need including the towers for up to a 14” shock under bed but I think id only need a 12”. Around 12-13” of travel I believe so seems similar to the tc kit in #’s so still midish travel. I’ll probably stay mid travel in the front for awhile so looking for something similar without glass. Just wondering if anyones gone this route. Like i said probably in the wrong spot but didnt want to start a new thread

As a guy who had the TC sua kit...I would rather get an LT rear leaf set up and run shock towers under the bed vs a stock geo sua. That way should you ever want to go LT...just go through the bed and make a cage. IMO a midtravel sua doesn't really sell for much in the used market either so if you ever make the jump...expect to lose out your ass unless it has minimal miles. Top of that, the LT sua kits have beefy hangers due to the design of the kit in general so you get a built rear anyway.

Yes, an LT rear sua will require more fab work than just the spring perches, but man you have soooo many more options.

    Jeff B knows whats up!

Thats a good point I hadn’t even considered. I might be too stuck up on these hangers I just installed which really weren’t that much. And with a bolt on kit, id have to do more research, but i could use the same factory holes I believe? Just would like something that drives half way decent on the street if possible

With the mid travel kit...the incentive with that is your travel numbers increase as the lift travel now gets factored in. Why many don't want to go LT is if they don't have the fab skills...then they got to pay a shop to remove the stock hangers and then space out the new LT hangers wider cause an LT kit houses a wider spring. Since you got new hangers in though...you could get the burg rear kit that is all bolt on. Since you have done the hard work of removing your stock hangers you could ideally just unbolt those and then bolt on the burg hangers and then burn on the spring perches. There is a guy named buyobuyo who is literally doing this with 14's with the archive towers so he can stay under his bed. Depends what decent is to ya...I like a good middle ground caddy feel so to me heavy springs with weight wasn't bad, but if you never haul anything you may want the light duty springs. LT kits generally only have one spring pack type although I think the burg kit has a light and heavy duty.

You would have to remove them by drilling out the existing rivets if you want to retain the "bolt on" functionality of the kit. You could just cut off the front hanger if you know you would ideally just burn it on.

They might be able to separate the hangers out from their kit since they make all their components "in house," but the whole point of those hangers are to be set wider than a stock leaf spring. This means your tc sua leafs would not be wide enough hence why its a mid travel kit...not wide enough to yield the travel numbers. So in your case, you would ideally sell your TC kit if you went LT.

I’ve thought about C-notching the frame, to gain more up travel for the axle, with either Camburgs kit or Giants kit (whichever I go with).
But with this picture, you probably couldn’t do that? As the main leaf is already flat, and any more up travel, it’d be going into negative arch, which isn’t good.

Has anyone ever c-notched the frame with an SUA kit?
