So recently my fob stopped working for my 04 Tacoma. This was one I bought over a year ago and programmed myself. I figured it was the battery in the fob and replaced it but it's still not working. I tried re-programming it but I'm having an issue. I can get it into the programming mode but I can't get it to recognize the remote. I thought maybe it was just a remote issue so I ordered another fob and still no luck.

    Any ideas?

What fob are you talking about, an aftermarket one? That would not be Toyota related am I correct. I have a KARR alarm system that takes two beeps to pop. WTF is going on?

Sorry, I should have clarified better. They are after market ones that I can't get the truck to recognize. But I did previously with the first aftermarket one I bought over a year ago. And it worked great up until now. And like I said I did connect it before so I don't know why it won't connect now.

Another piece of info, I still have the factory original fob, and it will lock the truck, so I know a fob can work. The unlock doesn't work but that's why I bought the aftermarket one to replace the original fob a while ago.

Have you done the key on-key off-open door-close door series to put the truck in program mode? If not, I'll find the crazy instructions for that.

Yeah I've done that and I am able to get it into programming mode but I just can't pair the remote.

I bought one that didn't work, as well. I talked to the person that I bought it from and he told that based on the symptoms I was having that he did something wrong setting up the fob and he sent me a new one that I was able to pair. Not much help, I know, but maybe something you can use.
