So my son called me and said his '97 4Runner sounded like a loud lawnmower. He was 20 miles away and knows next to nothing about engines. I told him to stay off the freeway on his way home. At 9:30 PM I'm looking at the #5 cylinder and there is no spark plug. Just a hole. WTH! I put in new ones about 2 years ago with a torque wrench. I pulled #4 plug and tightened it down to make sure it wasn't broken off down there. It went on fine. It's now 10:00 PM and only Autozone is open until 11:00 PM. They don't have the dual ground plugs but only a crappy single ground Autolite plug. Well I'm heading out of town for a week and can't deal with it so the Autolite went in.

The 4Runner runs just fine but will that be okay with one different plug for a week?

    100% fine.

The function of the dual ground is primarily to increase longevity, it has no effect on performance. The 5vz uses a wasted spark ignition which essentially means each spark plugs fires twice as frequently as that cylinder ignites causing the ground electrode to erode twice as fast.
