My old suspension had almost 2" more droop than stock. Sadly new suspension does not. The extra droop made the skids hit the pivot and bind up so I got out the plasma cutter and made slots so they wouldn't hit.

Thank you sir for all your info! I do know that I would like HF. I want out of line of sight. I want to be able to get a message out if needed. I also know that I wanted to have a hardwired radio mounted somewhere with a mic. There's just so many options I'm not sure which one to pick up. I've also seen people mount an antenna directly to a rail on the prinsu.... I think that would be a good location no?

To do this right I would probably need to meet up with somebody from a club, ugh sounds like a buncha weirdos though haha

I priced out some GMRS radios last night and purchased a set of handhelds to get my feet wet. I was hoping to spend around $100 but the radio I can find with FRS, GMRS, AND repeater channels is $250.

That's misleading. The handhelds I bought were $88.

I traced and scanned the template I used to make the sides. I can PM them if you're interested. The truck was broken into in my driveway and the console was stolen along with some other things. The console was made out of 1/16" plywood and they just ripped it off of the ceiling. It was mounted using the dome light and the map light screw holes. I'll probably build another some day, but my wife has been adamant about no new projects til I finish building our adventurin' trailer:
